Not Quite Spelunking
You probably didn't know that there exists under MOPAC a web of natural underground tunnels known as Whirlpool Cave. Now you do - and now you can go there.
Join us for a quick trip into the center of the earth and emerge a new person from a hole in the ground!
Guided Tour

Though Whirlpool cave is relatively easy to tour (compared to nearby Airman's Cave), this trip is best for those who are comfortable in somewhat confined spaces. Throughout the tour, you will learn about the formation of area caves and how their role in the Edwards Aquifer system.
The HCC staffers have personally tested this tour and certified that it is indeed awesome, so join us for a unique experience you won't soon forget.
The Rundown
- This event is for EPIC members only
- Only EPIC Level II and III members may bring a guest
- We'll meet at the cave at 4pm
- Wear jeans and plan to get dirty
- The whole trip will be about 3 hours
- All equipment will be provided - and yes, you get a headlamp
